Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Greg Lonigro was drafted in the 11th round of the January 1986 draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, then in the 1st round of the secondary phase of the 1986 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He played in the Reds' chain from 1986 to 1992, the Chicago White Sox chain in 1992 and the Chicago Cubs chain in 1993, finally reaching AAA in his last season.
As a scout, Lonigro has signed Kaleb Fleck, Dustin Nippert, Ross Ohlendorf and Justin Upton among others. In 2008, Lonigro was the East Coast Supervisor of scouting for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
