Biographical Information

Infielder Ging Aaron spent five seasons in the minor leagues. He was the son of minor leaguer Melvin Aaron, nephew of Wilmer Aaron and third cousin of Hall of Famer Hank Aaron and major leaguer Tommie Aaron. He is also related to Lary Aaron.

Aaron was selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 19th round of the 1999 amateur draft. They did well with late picks in the 17th round (Matt Diaz) and 18th round (Ryan Raburn) that year. He played two seasons in the Tampa Bay chain and several more years in the independent leagues. Ging made his pro debut with the Princeton Devil Rays, going 0 for 4 in 1999. In 2000, he hit .236/.313/.264 in 42 games for Princeton and was 0 for 1 for the St. Petersburg Devil Rays. He was Princeton's most-used second baseman (25 games).

Let go by Tampa Bay, Aaron put up a .250/.265/.333 line for the 2001 St. George Pioneerzz. He was 3 for 23 with a double and 3 walks for the 2002 Berkshire Black Bears. He ended his career with the 2003 Cananea Mineros, going 5 for 32 with 4 walks, 17 whiffs, 2 doubles and a homer. His cumulative batting line as a pro was .214/.295/.270 in 82 games.
