Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Melvin Aaron spent one summer in pro baseball. He is the cousin of Hall of Famer Hank Aaron and major leaguer Tommie Aaron, brother of minor leaguer Wilmer Aaron, father of minor leaguer Ging Aaron and relative of Lary Aaron. Melvin was selected by the California Angels in the 17th round of the 1971 amateur draft. He played one year of minor league ball, splitting the 1971 season between the Idaho Falls Angels (1 for 10, 2B, 5 BB) and the Quad Cities Angels (.235/.339/.324 in 37 G, 5 SB, 1 CS). He later was baseball coach at Los Angeles City College.
