Biographical Information[edit]

George Daisy (also spelled Daisey) played one game of major league baseball for the Altoona Mountain City of the Union Association in 1884. He had previously played for Altoona in 1883 before the team was in the majors, and later played for some other minor league teams in the same general part of the country.

He had a fortunate name for the times. The word "daisy" in the late 1800s meant "something excellent" and was on occasion applied to ballplayers.

He could also be placed on an all-flower team with Jim Lillie, Tyler Flowers and Callix Crabbe.
