Biographical Information[edit]
Gary Rundles has been a college coach for over 30 years. His son Rich Rundles has played in the majors.
Rundles was head coach at Chattanooga Central High School from 1977-1984, going 171-72. He was assistant coach at Carson-Newman College for two years, then became head coach from 1988-2000, going 372-277 with five conference titles. He went to the 1993 NAIA College World Series and 1999 Division II College World Series. He then was head coach at the University of West Alabama, starting in 2001. His team won 45 games in both 2005 and 2008, a school record for victories. Rundles stepped down after the 2023 season; he had been 655-487 at West Alabama to bring his career record to 1,035-764.
