Biographical Information[edit]
Gabriele Quattrini has pitched in Serie A1 and for the Italian national team.
He took part in the European Baseball Academy in 2012. [1] He didn't make his Serie A1 debut until 2020, when he was 1-0 with a 9.95 ERA for Hotsand Macerata. He improved to 8-3, 2.86 for them in 2021 with 79 K in 66 IP. He tied for 4th in wins.
Pitching for Italy in the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week, he went six shutout innings to beat Cuba's César García. Only Riku Kikuchi and Jordan Lucas pitched more innings in the event without yielding a run. [2] That summer, he was 9-1 with two saves and a 1.77 ERA for ASD San Marino. He was one win behind co-leaders Raúl Rivero and Aliangel Lopez. In the 2022 Italian Series, he saved Tiago Da Silva's Game 4 win; San Marino topped Parma in seven.
Quattrini returned to Macerata and improved to 11-0, 1.62 in 2023. He was again one shy of the win lead (this time it went to Frank Medina). In the 2023 European Championship, he allowed four runs in 3 1/3 IP in an upset loss to Per Sjörs and Sweden and yielded seven hits and two runs in 3 1/3 IP (though he fanned 7) in a no-decision versus Switzerland. [3]
He slumped to 3-4, 3.86 with a save for Macerata in 2024.
