Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Leo is a high school coach and a summer collegiate manager. Despite coming from New York, NY, he has spent almost his entire baseball career in Kansas. He played his college ball at Fort Hays State University. Currently coach Leo is the head coach at Hays High School, in Hays, KS, a position he has held since 1981. But most notably he has been manager of the Hays Larks of the summer collegiate Jayhawk League since 1980, making him the longest-tenured manager currently in summer collegiate baseball. He has led the Larks to the National Baseball Congress World Series 23 times, and although they have never won it, they have been runners up five times. Frank Leo has managed several notable major leaguers over the years, including Jim Leyritz, Shane Bowers, Lance Berkman, Jack Wilson, Albert Pujols and B.J. Ryan.
