Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Frances Janssen played four seasons in the AAGPBL with six different teams. She debuted in 1948, going 4-4 with a 3.98 ERA for the Grand Rapids Chicks. She played in 1949 for the developmental teams, the Chicago Colleens and Springfield Sallies. Back in 1950, she bounced between the Peoria Redwings, Kalamazoo Lassies and Fort Wayne Daisies with a composite record of 3-3, 3.87 in 19 games.
Her best year was 1951, when she went 6-10 with a 2.67 ERA with Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne Peoria and the Battle Creek Belles. She ended up in 1952 with Battle Creek, going 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA. Overall, she had a 13-18, 3.74 record with 143 walks in 289 innings over 61 games. She had no decisions and a 3.01 ERA in three playoff games (all in 1950, when Fort Wayne fell to the Rockford Peaches.
