Fort Leonard Wood Hilltoppers
The Fort Leonard Wood Hilltoppers were a baseball team of military personnel from Fort Leonard Wood military base in Missouri.
The Hilltoppers played in two straight National Semipro Championships, losing in 1952 then winning the following year as they beat the Boeing Bombers in the final. They went unbeaten throughout the tournament. Former Cardinals and Royals manager Whitey Herzog played on the 1953 championship team.
