Biographical Information[edit]
Evan LeBlanc was a minor league outfielder and won a MVP in Germany.
LeBlanc hit .302/.367/.397 as a college junior in 2007 then .376/.432/.537 as a senior, with 53 runs in 55 runs. He made All-West Coast Conference. LeBlanc was picked by the New York Mets in the 23rd round of the 2008 amateur draft, scouted by Doug Thurman. He did not play that summer due to a wrist injury. In 2009, he played for the Kingsport Mets (3 for 9, 2B, 3B), Brooklyn Cyclones (1 for 12, BB) and Savannah Sand Gnats (.188/.279/.260 in 43 G). He was released in April 2010. For 2011, he signed with Germany's Regensburg Legionäre, as did former college teammate Justin Kuehn.
He hit .484/.561/.726 with 29 runs and 34 RBI in 24 games as Regensburg's right fielder in 2011. He won the southern Bundesliga-1 batting title by 74 points over Ian O'Connor, tied for third in home runs (4, one shy of the co-leaders), led in RBI (2 ahead of Matt Lokken), led in hits (46, 7 ahead of #2 Nils Hartkopf), was second in runs (5 behind Matt Vance), tied for 5th in walks (18), led in slugging (97 points ahead of Hartkopf), led in OBP (.051 ahead of O'Connor) and tied Richard Klijn for 6th in steals (9). He was the MVP of the southern Bundesliga-1.
He remained with Regensburg in 2012 and batted .405/.457/.619 with 24 runs and 29 RBI in 21 games, his numbers down somewhat. He was on the southern Bundesliga-1 leaderboard in average (5th, between Vance and Mike Larson), RBI (5th), hits (34, tied for 8th with Petr Čech and Josh Petersen) and slugging (6th, between Ludwig Glaser and Aaron Hornostaj).
