Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Evan Bigley began his professional career in 2008. He was originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 10th round of the 2008 amateur draft, one pick after outfielder Alex Castellanos, and was signed by scout Marty Esposito for a bonus of $75,000. In 2008, he was an Appalachian League All-Star, hitting .300 with 14 home runs and 47 RBI in 53 games for the Elizabethton Twins. Though he reached Triple-A in 2012 and 2013, he never reached the majors leagues and the Twins released him prior to the 2014 season. He joined the independent ranks that year. He batted .292 his first and only year in indy ball, his highest mark since 2008.

Overall, he batted .270/.320/.408 with 59 home runs and 394 RBI at all levels, including a stint in the Arizona Fall League.

His brother, Dennis Bigley, played in the Toronto Blue Jays system in 2005 and 2006.
