Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Alex Castellanos played 24 games in the bigs with the Los Angeles Dodgers between 2012 and 2013, hitting .171 with 2 home runs in 41 at bats. He was originally selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the tenth round in 2008, signed by scout Mike Juhl and debuted that summer. Alex was traded to the Dodgers in return for shortstop Rafael Furcal at the trading deadline in 2011. He was traded again, to the Boston Red Sox, for Jeremy Hazelbaker on October 25, 2013, but selected off waivers by a couple other teams before the next season began. He played in the minor league organizations of the San Diego Padres in 2014, the New York Mets in 2015, the Colorado Rockies in 2016, and the Baltimore Orioles in 2017. He last played with the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League in 2018.
