Biographical Information

Endrys Briceño pitched as high as AAA and on the Venezuelan national team.

Briceño was signed by Detroit Tigers scout German Robles. He made his pro debut with the 2009 VSL Tigers, saving two games with a 3.41 ERA. He returned to the same team the next year, going 2-5 with a 5.63 ERA, pitching primarily as a starter this time. As a full-time starter for the '11 GCL Tigers, he had a similar 2-5, 5.34 record. He tied for 6th in the Gulf Coast League in losses and hit 14 batters, the most. In 2012, he was 4-3 with a 5.15 ERA for the Connecticut Tigers.

The Maracay native posted a 7-9, 4.47 record for the 2013 West Michigan Whitecaps. He tied for 6th in the Midwest League in losses. He was 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA for the Tiburones de La Guaira in the Venezuelan Winter League. He allowed six runs in 16 innings for the 2014 Lakeland Flying Tigers before Tommy John surgery ended his season. He returned in 2015 to pitch for Lakeland (2-3, 4.09 in 8 G) and the GCL Tigers (0-1, 1.98 in 5 G). In 2016, he was 4-7 with a 5.94 ERA for Lakeland. He led the Florida State League with 18 batters plunked (7 more than Austin Coley and Stephen Tarpley) and tied for 5th with 13 wild pitches. He was 0-1 with 14 hits and 9 runs (6 earned) in 4 1/3 IP for La Guaira.

In 2017, he was 1-4 with a save and a 3.59 ERA for Lakeland. He pitched in '18 for Lakeland (0-1, 7 R, 3 ER in 4 IP) and West Michigan (4-2, Sv, 4.50 in 17 G). He next surfaced in 2021, going 5-3 with two saves and a 1.87 ERA in 51 games for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, striking out 77 in 57 2/3 IP. He tied Donald Goodson for second in the Atlantic League in pitching appearances. He was 5-0 with ten saves and a 0.76 ERA for the '22 Blue Crabs, with a .82 WHIP and 73 K in 47 2/3 IP. He tied Tyler Wilson for 9th in saves and won the league's All-Star relief pitcher award. That impressed the Arizona Diamondbacks, who signed him to a deal, over four years since he had last played in the affiliated minors.

He was 1-0 with two saves and a 3.52 ERA for the Indios de Mayagüez in the 2022-2023 Puerto Rican League. He made Venezuela's team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic, another sign of his improved stock after being out of the minors for years when most of their staff had MLB experience. He made one appearance against Israel., relieving Enmanuel De Jesus with a 5-1 lead in the 8th and two out. He walked Ryan Lavarnway then got Alex Dickson to pop out. Darwinzon Hernández succeeded him. He began 2023 with the Reno Aces.
