Biographical Information[edit]
Dylan De Meyer has pitched in the minors.
De Meyer was signed by the Seattle Mariners as an undrafted free agent in August 2011; the scout was John Ramey. He debuted with the 2012 AZL Mariners, going 3-2 with a 4.12 ERA. He allowed 71 hits, third-most in the Arizona League. In the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he got the only win for the South African national team. Entering in the bottom of the 10th with a 2-2 tie against France, he relieved Hein Robb. He allowed a one-out double to Rene Leveret, walked Florian Peyrichou and allowed a Carlos Hereaud single but escaped by fanning Frédéric Hanvi on a borderline pitch on a full count, and then got Marc Ramirez to escape the jam. After South Africa scored 3 times in the top of the 11th, De Meyer allowed a hit to Luc Piquet and a walk to Emmanuel Garcia but nothing else as South Africa won, 5-2.
