Biographical Information[edit]

Duje Papić has played in Croatia and for the Croatian national team.

He allowed 11 runs (7 innings) in 4 1/3 IP for Olimpija Karlovac in the 2019 Federations Cup. [1] He hit .273/.385/.364 and fielded .667 in the 2021 Federations Cup, playing second, third and catcher. [2] He hit .231/.333/.231 and was 1-0 with a 8.64 ERA in the 2022 Confederation Cup. [3] He was 1 for 2 with a HBP and two runs in the 2023 Confederation Cup, still a teenager. [4]

He made Croatia's squad for the 2023 European Championship. He got into two games. Against the Dutch national team, he relieved Nino Kruhek with two outs in the 4th, a 13-1 deficit and two on. He walked Shervyen Newton then got Ademar Rifaela to fly out. In the 5th, he walked Sicnarf Loopstok but Sharlon Schoop hit into a double play and Dwayne Kemp struck out. Bruno Špehar took over for him. He was easily Croatia's top pitcher in the 15-2 loss. His other contest, he took over second base when 2B Antonio Horvatić moved to the mound to close out a 7-5 win over Belgium. He did not handle a chance or get to bat. [5]
