Biographical Information

Dong-heon Kim has played in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.

The Kiwoom Heroes took him in the second round of the 2023 amateur draft. He hit .242/.318/.313 in 242 PA over 102 games in 2023, throwing out 30% of would-be base-stealers and splitting catching with Ji-young Lee. He also played for South Korea in the 2022 Asian Games (held in '23 after delays from COVID-19. Backing up Hyung-jun Kim, he got into two games for the Gold Medal winners. He drew a walk from Thailand's Phoomwut Wutthikorn his first time up and finished the Games 0-for-2 with a walk and two runs while handling 12 chances error-free. He won Silver with South Korea in the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship.
