Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Don Pries played in the minors from 1945 to 1958. In 1947, Pries hit .326 with 32 doubles and 19 home runs for the Meridian Peps of the class B Southeastern League. He never hit more than 4 homers in any other season. Pries reached as high as AA in 1947 and 1948 for a total of 36 games. He would then spend 1951-1957 in the Western International League/Northwest League.
Pries then scouted for the St. Louis Cardinals through 1962, the Cleveland Indians in 1963, the Kansas City A's 1964-1967 and the Baltimore Orioles in 1968-1969.
Pries' great nephew, Jordan Pries, has played minor league baseball since 2011, reaching AAA in 2014.
