Dominik Hartinger has been a pitcher for the Gauting Indians for a number of years.
Hartinger was 6-6 with a 8.97 ERA for Gauting in 2002 in the Bundesliga-2's southern division and 3-1, 6.54 in 2003. In 2004, Dominik was 1-4 with a 7.38 ERA when Gauting moved up to Bundesliga-1. He also allowed 20 unearned runs, second-most in the southern division.
In 2005, the Starnberg native posted a 2-2, 3.35 record for his best season of the decade. His four saves put him second behind Philipp Hoffschild. Dominik faded to 0-2, 6.97 in 2006, then was 4-7 with a 4.33 ERA in 2007. He tied Gregor Klinc for 8th in strikeouts (50), tied for third in losses, was third in innings (97 2/3, trailing Manuel Moeller and Eddie Aucoin) and was 10th in WHIP.
For the 2008 Indians, the right-hander went 1-11 with a 4.61 ERA. He finished among the leaders in strikeouts (81, second to Aucoin), losses (tied for the most), innings (95 2/3, tied with Moeller for third), walks (48, second), wild pitches (17, 1st) and hit batsmen (14, second).
With Gauting in 2009, Dominik was 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA. His three saves tied Rodney Gessmann and Max Boldt for second behind Peter Dankerl.
Hartinger made Germany's roster for the 2005 European Championship.
