Biographical Information[edit]

Gregor Klinc is one of the more prominent Austrians in German baseball. In 2006, he went 6-0 and hit .400 for the Haar Disciples to help them move up to Germany's first division, Bundesliga-1. In 2007, he hit .279/.304/.337 as a regular in right field; he was their #2 pitcher after Eddie Aucoin and was 2-8 with a 3.80 ERA. He was among the league leaders in ERA (8th), strikeouts (50, tied for 8th), losses (tied for first), innings (87 2/3, 5th) and fewest walks per inning (.25, 2nd to Aucoin) but was also second in runs allowed (73).

In the 2007 European Championship, Klinc went 2 for 17 as a regular outfielder for Austria (making their European Championship debut) and going 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA as one of their best pitchers (team ERA of 8.93); he took the loss against Croatia.

Klinc hit .301/.351/.379 as Haar's #3 hitter in 2008, after former minor leaguer Adalberto Paulino and Nate Fish. He also was a regularly used pitcher, going 2-4 with three saves and a 3.40 ERA, walking only six in 45 innings. He was on Austria's roster for the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers but did not play.
