Team History[edit]
The Desert Valley Mountain Lions played in the Continental Baseball League during its final season, 2010. They were a quasi-road team, as they did not have a permanent home, their principal base being El Paso Community College in El Paso, TX, although they played in various other locations as well. Their major claim to fame is that they got manager Chris Paterson his start in professional baseball at age 24, making him at the time the youngest manager in the minor leagues. The team went 20-27, placing third in the four-team league, before the league ceased its operations on July 31st.
