Tarrant County Blue Thunder

From BR Bullpen

The Tarrant County Blue Thunder, based in a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, began play in the newly formed Continental Baseball League in 2007.

Led by skipper Curtis Wilkerson, the Blue Thunder posted the best record during the league's regular season in their inaugural campaign before winning a three team double-elimination championship series. Shortstop Josh Blackstock hit .373 to win the circuit's batting crown, while pitcher Zach Duncan was 5-2 with 52 strikeouts and a league-best 3.14 ERA to be named CBL Pitcher of the Year. Wilkerson, who led the club to a 30-17 regular season mark, was named Manager of the Year.

During their first season, the Blue Thunder played their home games at Cross Timbers Park in North Richland Hills. Starting in 2008, they called The Ballfields at Craig Ranch in McKinney home and were renamed the McKinney Blue Thunder.
