Biographical Information

David Rubio debuted for the Chilean national team in the 2023 Pan American Games; he is presumably the brother of teammate Felipe Rubio as they both have the matrilineal surname Chirino. David's first game was against Panama. Starting at third base, he was retired by Luis Ramos and Julio Denis. He was 0-for-5 for the Games with one hit-by-pitch, fielding .750 between 2B, SS, 3B and RF. Only former minor leaguers Lucas Rojo and Fabián Pertuz had more errors than his 3 in the Games.
