Biographical Information[edit]

David Lozano has played in the minors and for the Colombian national team.

Lozano was signed by New York Mets scouts Harold Herrera and Chris Becerra in 2015. [1] He hit .283/.411/.333 in 40 games in 2016, split between the DSL Mets 1 and DSL Mets 2, playing mostly second base. He was primarily a first baseman with the '17 DSL Mets 2, when he hit .313/.412/.381 and stole 14 bases in 19 tries. As a utility man, he spent 2018 with the DSL Mets 1 (.256/.375/.308 in 11 G) and GCL Mets (.235/.305/.271 in 30 G). He had batted .282/.386/.337 in 131 games as a pro, scoring 76 runs.

He started at second base for Colombia in their 2022 Bolivarian Games opener, grounding out against Edgar Paredes of Peru his first time up. He was 0 for 10 in the Games, but with five walks, a run and two RBI for the Silver Medal winners. He fielded .931. He tied Victor Luna for third in the event in walks, one behind teammates Diover Ávila and Gaspar Palacio. [2]
