Biographical Information[edit]

Harold Herrera was signed by the New York Mets in 1999 and was in their system until 2002, not reaching the US minors. He hit .264 for Universidad de Carabobo in the 2001 Venezuelan Summer League. He hit .379 for the Toros de Sincelejo in 2004 to win the Colombian Professional Baseball League batting title. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he was the starting second baseman for the Colombian national team, hitting .296/.333/.333 with 6 RBI in 8 games, fielding .972 at 2B. He led the team in RBI, two over Jhony Leon.

Starting in 2004, he was the Mets' scout in Colombia. He signed Nelmerson Angela, Nabil Crismatt and Andrés Pérez. He also has coached for the Caimanes de Barranquilla. In 2015, he became Director of Operations for the Colombian League.
