Chris Becerra has been a scout. He was an assistant coach at Santa Rosa Junior College from 2001-2004. From 2008-2010, he was a west coast scout for the Toronto Blue Jays, signing David Cooper and Jon Jones. He was a southern California scout for the New York Mets in 2011 then was promoted to International Scouting Director, replacing Ismael Cruz (who been hired by the Blue Jays).
