Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher David Anderson pitched at Muhlenberg College from 2012-2015 and graduated in 2015 with degrees in Business Administration and Media & Communication. He continued his playing career after graduation in the independent leagues. Anderson's first stop was the Newburgh Newts of the North Country Baseball League, posting a 2.38 ERA with seven saves. That same year, he also pitched for the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League, going 2-2 with a 2.67 ERA in seven starts. In 2016 he started the season with Bridgeport before being traded to the New Jersey Jackals of the Can-Am League. Between the two teams Anderson had a 2-3 record with an ERA of 7.78. An injury ended his playing career.

Even while finishing his player career, Anderson started on his coaching career. He returned to Muhlenberg as their pitching coach for the 2016-2017 seasons. In 2018 he served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cornell University Big Red. After the season Anderson was the head coach for the Watertown Rapids of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, a summer collegiate league where the players used wooden bats. In 2019 Anderson was an assistant coach for the Emory University Eagles. Anderson had a second managerial stint in the summer of 2019, leading the Fayetteville SwampDogs of the Coastal Plain League.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hired Anderson away from Emory in 2020. He was scheduled to be a development coach for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes before the minor league season was shut down by COVID-19. In 2021 Anderson was a pitching coach for the ACL Dodgers. He moved up to the Great Lakes Loons in 2022 and stayed as their pitching coach through the 2024 season. During the 2023 season his pitching staff led the Midwest League with a league-best 3.73 team ERA. In both 2022 and 2023 the Loons led the League in strikeouts. After the 2023 season Anderson also worked as the pitching coach for the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League.
