Daniel Vítek has pitched in the Czech Extraliga.

Vítek was lit up in the 2009 World Youth Championship for 10 hits, 6 walks and 11 runs in 1 2/3 IP, losing to Hong Kong. He went 1 for 3 with a run. He tied for second in the event with four games pitched, one behind Hiroaki Yokotsuka. He had the tourney's third-worst ERA, better than only one Russian and one other Czech hurler. He participated in the MLB European Academy in 2011. That year, he debuted in the Extraliga, going 1-3 with two saves and a 7.22 ERA for the Eagles Praha. In the 2011 European Junior Championship, he went 2-0 with a 1.12 ERA, 20 strikeouts and 8 hits in 16 innings; he was 2 for 8 with a double, run and 2 RBI at the plate. He finished 4th in the event in ERA behind Robin Schel, Nikita Lobanov and Artem Lopata. His .138 opponent average was the lowest, .36 better than Ian Delamarre. He tied teammate Marko Vykoukal for the most strikeouts and tied Lopata, Schel and Delamarre for first in wins. He got his victories over Lithuania and Germany.

In 2012, Vítek improved to 3-3, 3.27 for the Eagles while holding opponents to a batting line of .226/.288/.273. He was among the Extraliga leaders in ERA (6th, between Petr Minařík and Marek Červenka), opponent slugging (1st, .005 better than former major leaguer Pat Ahearne), opponent average (3rd) and opponent OBP (6th, between Jan Blažek and Martin Schneider). He then went to the US for junior college, going 4-0 with a save and a 2.39 ERA for Redlands Community College in 2012-2013.

In the 2013 European Cup, he won his lone start, allowing four runs in eight innings to beat the Bern Cardinals and former Tigers minor leaguer Patrick Lawson.
