Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Daniel Susac is the brother of major league catcher Andrew Susac; another brother, Matt Susac, has pitched for the Croatian national team. He was selected by the Oakland Athletics with the 19th pick of the first round of the 2022 amateur draft, out of the University of Arizona, where he hit .366 with 12 homers and 61 RBIs in 64 games in his final season. As a a freshman in 2021, he had hit .335 and played in the College World Series.
He began his professional career in 2022 with the ACL Athletics, then moved up to the Stockton Ports of the California League after just two games. He hit .298 in 27 games between the two teams. In 2023, he played 99 games for the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League and another 13 with the Midland RockHounds of the AA Texas League. His combined slash line was .301/.365/.428 with 8 homers and 62 RBIs. In 2024, he spend a full season with Midland, playing 88 games and hitting .257/.300/.434, with 12 homers and 50 RBIs. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League.
