Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder/catcher Dan Radison was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 10th round of the 1972 amateur draft. He hit .391/~.418/.500 for the 1972 GCL Cardinals and .264/~.289/.356 for the St. Petersburg Cardinals. In 1973, Radison hit .283/~.331/.377 with the Modesto Reds and .211/~.248/.318 for the Arkansas Travelers. He wrapped up his playing career in 1974 with Arkansas (.176/~.222/.294) and the Tulsa Oilers (.207/~.240/.271).

After his minor league playing career ended, Radison was an assistant coach at Broward Community College in 1977-1978, the University of Georgia in 1979-1981, and Old Dominion University in 1982-1983.

Radison managed in the minors from 1984-1992, then spent several seasons on the coaching staffs of the San Diego Padres (1993-1994) and Chicago Cubs (1995-1999). He managed the Brisbane Bandits from 1994-1996, winning the 1993-1994 Australian Baseball League title. He was on the coaching staffs of the Norwich Navigators in 2001 and the Columbus Clippers in 2002. Radison also scouted for the Yankees in 2003 and 2005. He was a minor league hitting instructor in the Cardinals organization in 2007-2009. Radison then returned to the major leagues on the coaching staffs of the Washington Nationals in 2010 and 2011 and the Houston Astros in 2012-2014. He was hitting coach of the Corpus Christi Hooks in 2015-2016. Radison moved to the Miami Marlins' organization as hitting coach of the Beloit Sky Carp in 2023-2024.
