The Connecticut Defenders were the AA affiliate of the San Francisco Giants and in the Eastern League. They played their home games at Dodd Stadium. The club, previously known as the Norwich Navigators, was renamed for the 2006 season. After the 2009 season it was announced that the team would be moving to Richmond, VA in 2010 to play as the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
