Biographical Information[edit]

Colin Ward came out of UCLA, where his time on the team overlapped with that of Shane Mack and Rich Amaral. Ward came to the majors in 1985 with the San Francisco Giants, a team which lost 100 games. Ward's 4.38 ERA that year was better than the 4.47 ERA posted by Vida Blue, one of the few pitchers on the team who did not have a losing record.
