The Miami Marlins drafted Suggs in the 2nd round of the 2013 Amateur Draft and he pitched in their minor league system from 2013-2016. After his playing career ended, Suggs turned to coaching by giving private lessons and then returning to the Razorbacks. In the 2017/2018 season he served as the team's volunteer assistant coach with an emphasis on working with their bullpen pitchers. While at Arkansas he worked with pitching coach Wes Johnson and followed Johnson to the Minnesota Twins organization in 2019. Suggs worked as an advance scout in 2019-2020 before being named the Twins' Run Prevention Coordinator in 2021. He stayed in this role until the end of June, 2022. When Johnson announced he was leaving the Twins to become the Louisiana State University pitching coach, Pete Maki was moved from bullpen coach to pitching coach and Suggs took over as the bullpen coach. He returned to the roles in 2023.
