The Miami Marlins drafted Suggs in the 2nd round of the 2013 Amateur Draft and he pitched in their minor league system from 2013-2016. He reached High-A in 2014 with the Jupiter Hammerheads before playing his last two seasons in the lower levels of the system. Overall Suggs appeared in 79 games (2 starts) and had a 3-9 record , 7 saves, and an ERA of 4.38. On July 22, 2013, he pitched a combined no-hitter against the Clearwater Threshers, started by Angel Sanchez and closed by James Nygren.

After his playing career ended, Suggs turned to coaching by giving private lessons and then returning to the Razorbacks. In the 2017/2018 season he served as the team's volunteer assistant coach with an emphasis on working with their bullpen pitchers. While at Arkansas he worked with pitching coach Wes Johnson and followed Johnson to the Minnesota Twins organization in 2019. Suggs worked as an advance scout in 2019-2020 before being named the Twins' Run Prevention Coordinator in 2021. He stayed in this role until the end of June, 2022. When Johnson announced he was leaving the Twins to become the Louisiana State University pitching coach, Pete Maki was moved from bullpen coach to pitching coach and Suggs took over as the bullpen coach. Suggs remained the bullpen coach through the 2024 season.
