Biographical Information[edit]

Chuck Bartlett was a minor league catcher who became a scout.

Bartlett was taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 5th round of the January 1981 draft out of junior college. The Toronto Blue Jays picked him in the 15th round of the 1982 amateur draft, one round after Ron Jones. He finally signed after the Los Angeles Dodgers selected him in the 10th round of the 1983 amateur draft. He split the summer between the Lethbridge Dodgers (.254/.305/.435, 7 HR, 15 PB in 40 G) and Vero Beach Dodgers (.208/.264/.208 in 14 G). He hit .283/.367/.330 in 42 games for Vero Beach in '84. In 95 minor league games, he had batted .257/.321/.360 with 42 runs and 39 RBI. He fielded .974 with 19 passed balls in 77 games behind the plate.

He later scouted for the Cleveland Indians. He signed Austin Adams, Jordan Henry, T.J. House, Carlos Moncrief, Drew Pomeranz, Justus Sheffield and LeVon Washington.
