Biographical Information[edit]

Christian Sket has been on the Croatian national team.

Sket was with Croatia for the 2014 European Championship. In the opener against the champion Dutch national team, he replaced Andrija Tomić and had two putouts but did not bat, then Dino Koren took over. The next day, he was their top pitcher in a 18-2, 5-inning mercy rule loss to Spain. Relieving Franko Vrlić Kovačić in the 3rd with a 10-2 deficit and no outs in the 3rd, he walked Franklin Tavarez, Daniel Martinez and Oscar Angulo. Paco Figueroa hit a sacrifice fly and former major leaguer Fernando Martínez singled in another run. Sket retired Jesús Golindano and Jesús Ustariz to escape further harm. In the 4th, he struck out Blake Ochoa and Leo Hernandez. He walked Tavarez and gave up singles to Daniel Martinez and Angulo. He walked PH Daniel Sánchez to force in a run then got Fernando Martínez. Aleksandar Kruhek relieved in the 5th. His first plate appearance came against Sweden; starting at catcher, he drew a walk from Jakob Claesson. He finished the event 0-for-5 with two walks and handled 13 chances error-free. He did not pitch again, but his 13.50 ERA was good for 7th among the 12 pitchers Croatia used.

He was 0 for 3 with two walks, two runs and a steal while playing error-free ball (8 TC) when Croatia won their 2015 B-Level European Championship; he backed up Kruno Gojković at short. He also pitched two shutout innings (2 BB, 4 K).
