Biographical Information[edit]

Chih-Peng Chen played in the CPBL for 5 years. His brother is former CPBL All-Star Chih-Yuan Chen.

Chen represented Taiwan in the 1999 World Port Tournament. He was drafted by the Macoto Cobras in the second round of the 2005 CPBL Draft, and he hit .200/.227/.259 in his rookie year. Chen only played 40 games with a .192/.228/.231 batting line in 2007, and he improved to .253/.296/.313 in 2008. The DMedia T-Rex (the Cobras had changed their name) expelled after the 2008 season, and the Brother Elephants selected Chen in the special draft. He hit .250/.279/.290 in 2009, and he was 2-for-11 in the 2009 Taiwan Series. The Elephants were beaten by the Uni-President Lions in 7 games. Chen only hit .232/.255/.263 in 2010, then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Chen had hit .233/.264/.278 with 118 hits and 20 doubles in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
