Biographical Information[edit]

Chien-Chou Wu played in the CPBL for 4 years.

Wu represented Taiwan in the 1988 World Junior Championship, 1989 World Junior Championship, 1990 World Junior Championship and 1995 Universiade. The Wei Chuan Dragons signed him in 1997, but he only played 9 games in his rookie year. Wu was 0-for-1 in the 1997 Taiwan Series, and he won his first Taiwan Series title as the Dragons beat the China Times Eagles in 6 games. He then recorded a .192/.259/.251 batting line in 1998, and he was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI in the 1998 Taiwan Series to help the Dragons beat the Sinon Bulls in 7 games. Wu's batting line was .209/.305/.294 in 65 games in 1999, and he hit .286/.375/.286 in the 1999 Taiwan Series. The Dragons beat the Chinatrust Whales in 5 games, and Wu won his third title. After the Dragons dissolved, the Sinon Bulls picked him up. However, he only hit .205/.304/.282 in the first 27 games with the Bulls, and he was released.

Overall, Wu had hit .199/.282/.272 with 74 hits in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
