Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Chia-Wei Lin has played for the Taiwanese national team at age-based levels and in the CPBL.

Lin represented Taiwan in the 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup (hitting .273/.318/.292). He batted .217/.419/.304 in the 2023 U-18 Baseball World Cup, tying for 3rd in the Cup with 7 runs, tying for first with 7 walks and tying for second with four steals. The Uni-President Lions took him with the third overall pick of the 2023 CPBL Draft, and he debuted in the same year. The 18-year-old outfielder pinch-hit for Chieh-Hsien Chen oin October 7, but Chung-Cheng Chiang struck him out. He got his first career hit on October 21, and that was a RBI double against Yao-Lin Wang in the 5th inning. Lin appeared in the 2023 CPBL Playoff Series Game 1, but he didn't get any at-bats and the Rakuten Monkeys eliminated them.

The Hualien native was 4-for-6 in the opening day of the 2024 season, and he was a home run shy from hit for a cycle. On May 4, he became the first player to get 5 strikeouts as a leadoff hitter in CPBL history against the TSG Hawks.
