Biographical Information

Relief pitcher Chasen Bradford began his professional career in 2011 after being taken in the 35th round of that year's draft by the New York Mets. The scout was Scott Nichols. He averaged 10 strikeouts per nine innings for the Kingsport Mets his first season and, in 2012, he had a 2.47 ERA in 37 relief appearances for the Savannah Sand Gnats. Between the St. Lucie Mets (30 games, 3.71 ERA) and Binghamton Mets (20 games, 0.71 ERA) in 2013, Bradford went a combined 9-3 with a 2.61 ERA. He was selected to participate in the Arizona Fall League that year and went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 10 games for the Scottsdale Scorpions. He reached Triple A for the first time in 2014 and went 3-2 with a 3.52 ERA at that level. Overall, he was 4-4 with a 2.97 ERA and 16 saves in 57 games that year. He returned to Triple A for 2015, posting a 4.10 ERA, and again in 2016, with a 4.80 ERA.

In the middle of what was shaping to be a third straight full season in Las Vegas, Chasen finally got the call to the Mets on June 22, 2017. He made his debut on June 25 at the former AT & T Park, striking out Nick Hundley and Denard Span in a scoreless ninth against the San Francisco Giants. In 28 appearances, he was 2-0 with a 3.74 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings. After the season, he was somewhat surprisingly designated for assignment and claimed by the Seattle Mariners. Making a career-best 46 appearances in 2018, he finished 5-0, 3.69 in 53 2/3 innings. An injury plagued 2019 saw him make only 12 appearances, and he became a free agent at the end of October.
