Charlie Sheen, born in 1965 as Carlos Irwin Estevez in a family of actors, is an actor and baseball fan.

He starred in a number of high-profile movies in the 1980s and 1990s, including Platoon, Wall Street, The Rookie, The Three Musketeers and The Arrival. He also starred in two very popular television series, Spin City and Two and a Half Men. One of his most memorable movie roles was playing pitcher Ricky Vaughn in the 1989 movie Major League, as well as in its less-successful sequels. In 1988, he played Happy Felsch in the movie Eight Men Out about the Black Sox Scandal.

As a fan, on August 4, 1992, he paid $93,500 at auction to acquire the ball hit by Mookie Wilson that passed through 1B Bill Buckner's legs in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, scoring the game-winning run for the New York Mets over the Boston Red Sox, capping a near-miraculous comeback. The ball had been recovered by Mets traveling secretary Arthur Richman from RF umpire Ed Montague, and the proceeds of the sale were given to charity. He is said to be a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds.

While in high school, Sheen played on the baseball team at Santa Monica High School.

In his personal life, Sheen has been troubled by a history of drug and alcohol abuse and allegations of domestic violence.
