From BR Bullpen

We now have 50 listings in this category. - --Mischa 12:22, 4 December 2007 (EST)

Our second country to have 100+ players listed, following the USA. - --Mischa 12:35, 15 January 2009 (EST)

Our second country to 150, following the USA. - --Mischa 17:23, 8 September 2009 (EDT)

Second to 200 as well. It's doubled in under two years, but we're still 180 back of the US though. - --Mischa 12:03, 17 November 2010 (EST)

Second to 250 (notice a trend?). Definitely scaling back and they've dropped farther behind the US (449). Still 29 ahead of #3 Cuba. - --Mischa (talk) 15:25, 9 July 2013 (EDT)

First two guys listed presently are both named Masahiro Abe. - --Mischa (talk) 15:36, 9 November 2015 (EST)

Shota Takeda brings us to 300. Still second, still about 200 behind the USA (512) but building the lead over Cuba (256) a bit. - --Mischa (talk) 17:07, 25 November 2015 (EST)

Toru Mori is #350 here; he had a page since 2014 but I only recently found and identified players from the 1955 Asian Championship roster for Japan. Still distinctly second, behind the US (546) and just about as far ahead of Cuba (304) as before. - --Mischa (talk) 15:00, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

Kota Nakagawa is the 400th in the category. Still solidly 2nd, though closer to #16 China than #1 US (over 640) - Mischa (talk) 17:30, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Our 450th is Futoshi Yamabe, who has had a page here for 16 years but wasn't IDed as a Japanese national team player until we added the 1993 Asian Championship roster. Even further behind the US (over 720) and 35 ahead of the Dominicans, who passed Cuba for third. - Mischa (talk) 20:38, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Japan hits 500, with Katsutoshi Miwata getting them there. Down to third behind the US and Taiwan, due to a big push to complete the Taiwanese listings. - Mischa (talk) 09:40, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Seiya Inoue is the 550th player here. They're back into second behind the US, now that Taiwan is complete and has had under 550 players. - Mischa (talk) 18:47, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

The 600th player here is Yoshihiro Nakata. - Mischa (talk) 12:27, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

Lots of red links being filled in. Shuji Morisada was #650 - Mischa (talk) 10:08, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

I think Kichiro Sasaki was the 700th entry. - Mischa (talk) 12:24, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Past 750; I think Makoto Miura was #750. Second to the US at 750, but they passed them with the recent flurry. With Japan appearing in more international tournaments than the US, this might wind up being our biggest NT player category. - Mischa (talk) 14:29, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Hironori Hiruta gets Japan to 800, the first country there. - Mischa (talk) 12:14, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

To 850 with Yukinobu Miyamoto - Mischa (talk) 13:18, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

Masahide Yone brings it to 900. Will they reach 1,000 by the time all the red links are gone? - Mischa (talk) 10:04, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

Japan will hit 1,000 after 2023 Asian Championship - Rugosa1134 (talk) 10:23, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

The 950th was Hiromi Nishimura - Mischa (talk) 15:42, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

They'll top 1,000 even without the 2023 Asian Championship. 997 already! - Mischa (talk) 12:43, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

Tsuyoshi Kawagishi is the 1,000th here! - Mischa (talk) 15:34, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

By the way,is there any red links need to fill? I thought that I had completed them all - Rugosa1134 (talk) 15:38, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

1990 Goodwill Games (Rosters); not sure if there are more. - Mischa (talk) 15:42, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

Sho Akiyama makes it 1,050 - Mischa (talk) 16:23, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
