Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Casey Meisner was a 3rd-round pick in the 2013 amateur draft by the New York Mets, out of a high school in Texas. The scout was Ray Corbett. He began his professional career bu going 1-3, 3.06 in 10 games for the GCL Mets in 2013. He then spent 2014 in the New York-Penn League with the Brooklyn Cyclones, where he was 5-3, 3.75 in 13 starts, striking out 67 in 62 1/3 innings. He tied Joe Musgrove for second in the NYPL in whiffs, a distant 24 behind leader Marcos Molina. He was assigned to the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League to begin 2015 and did very well, going 7-2, 2.13 in 12 starts. On June 27th, he moved up to the St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League where he made an other 6 starts, with a record of 3-2, 2.83.

On July 27, 2015, he was traded to the Oakland Athletics straight up for closer Tyler Clippard in a trading deadline deal.
