Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Casey McCarthy began his professional career in 2012.

He was taken by the Miami Marlins in the 28th round of the 2012 amateur draft; the scout was Robby Corsaro. He posted a 2.20 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings between the GCL Marlins and Jamestown Jammers in 2012 and in 2013, he went 2-5 with a 4.86 ERA in 24 games between the Batavia Muckdogs (23 G) and Jupiter Hammerheads (1 G). He led the New York-Penn League in games finished. In 2014, he was 6-5 with a 4.59 ERA in 38 relief appearances between the Hammerheads, Jacksonville Suns and Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs. In his first taste of Triple-A, he gave up 12 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.
