They were a founding member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 1915.

On February 2, 2013 Caltech beat Pacifica College, winning a game for the first time since February 15, 2003, a span of 228 games. The school had not won a conference game since 1988 until 2017, a span of over 500 games. Of course, Cal Tech is a very small school, with a total undergraduate student body of fewer than 1,000 students, which creates challenges for fielding baseball teams.
