Biographical Information[edit]

John D'Auria has coached college baseball for over 20 years.

The Houston Astros took D'Auria in the third round of the 1966 amateur draft, but his only pro experience came in the Detroit Tigers chain. In 1967, he was with the Erie Tigers (71 H, 40 BB, 71 R in 46 IP; 0-4) and Statesville Tigers (0-2, 4.50). He pitched in 1968 for the GCL Tigers (2-2, 2.33) and Dubuque Royals (2-3, 7.62, 27 H, 23 BB in 26 IP). He then was in the US Army. He was assistant coach at the California Institute of Technology from 1983-1989 and became head coach in 1990. He held that role until 2012.
