Biographical Information[edit]

Brett Lester played the 2009 season with the San Angelo Colts in the United Baseball League where he posted a 4-4 record and a 6.46 ERA in 54.1 innings. He struck out 50 and walked 42.

After being the first overall pick in the Frontier League draft on May 4, 2010, Lester was signed by the Normal CornBelters.

Brett made his first appearance for the CornBelters out of the bullpen in their very first game on May 21st against the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field in Evansville, IN. He pitched 2 innings of scoreless ball while striking out 3 and walking none.

Lester made his first start for the CornBelters on May 26th against the River City Rascals. He gave up 6 runs (all earned), struck out one and walked three while picking up the loss.

Brett picked up his first victory for the CornBelters on June 5th against the Kalamazoo Kings after going 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on just 4 hits, striking out 3, but walking 7. Lester left the contest with the CornBelters ahead 4-3, and they hung on to win 6-5.

Lester finished the 2010 season with a 7-7 record and a 4.42 ERA while striking out 76 and walking only 44.
