Brandon Moore is the hitting coach for the State College Spikes for 2010. He played in the minors for 7 years, including three at AAA. 2008 was his eighth year as a minor league coach.
Moore hit .325/?/.398 in 1992. In 1993, he improved to .365/?/.491. In his 1994 campaign ,he batted .361/?/.491 with 66 RBI. The Chicago White Sox picked him in the 17th round of the 1994 amateur draft.
Moore played in 1994 for the GCL White Sox (going 1 for 10) and the Hickory Crawdads (hitting .248/.341/.300). In 1995, Brandon batted .257/~.321/.286 for the South Bend Silver Hawks. He stole 34 bases in 42 tries and scored 75 runs.
In 1996, Brandon played for the Prince William Cannons and led White Sox minor leaguers with 82 walks. He hit .241/~.361/.287. His base-stealing rate declined rapidly, as he was thrown out 11 times in 20 attempts. Moore batted .256/~.329/.304 for the 1997 Birmingham Barons and led Southern League shortstops in fielding percentage (.960). He was also error-free in 12 games at second base.
During 1998, the 25-year-old made it to AAA, where he split second base duties for the Calgary Cannons with Craig Wilson. Moore hit just .209/~.269/.258 in 86 games that season. In 1999, Moore split time between Birmingham (.193/~.290/.252 in 36 games) and the Charlotte Knights (.284/~.331/.378 in 90 contests). He concluded his playing career in 2000 with 96 games for Charlotte, hitting .237/.324/.283 as a part-time second and third baseman.
In 2001, Moore moved to a coaching role in the White Sox system. He coached for the Bristol White Sox in 2001-2002 and Kannapolis Intimidators in 2003-2004. In 2005, he joined the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as hitting coach of the Lynchburg Hillcats. In 2006-2008, he had the same role with the Altoona Curve. Moore was then hitting coach of the State College Spikes in 2009-2010 and Altoona again in 2011. Moore returned to the White Sox' chain as coach of the Birmingham Barons in 2012, the Charlotte Knights in 2013, and Birmingham again in 2014. Moore moved to the Kansas City Royals' chain as hitting coach of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2015.
