Boris Villa has been a player, scout and manager.
Villa signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1980. In '81, he hit .184/.206/.198 for the Greenwood Pirates as a utility infielder. With the same club in 1982, he batted .164/.182/.193. He fielded .955 at second base, leading the team in games played there; replacing him later in the year was Bip Roberts, a call-up from rookie ball.
After his playing career ended, he spent over a decade as a Colombia scout for the Texas Rangers (1987-1992) and New York Mets (1994-1999). He managed the 2009 Yuma Scorpions. He guided the Colombian national team in the 2010 South American Games (they won Gold) and the 2010 Pan American Games Qualification Tournament.
