Biographical Information

Bobby St. Pierre has pitched and coached in the minors.

St. Pierre played baseball and football in college. He was named the Colonial Athletic Association All-Conference right-handed starter in 1994. The next year, he went 11-3 with a 4.26 ERA and 130 strikeouts, leading the CAA in both wins and Ks. The New York Yankees took him in the 7th round of the 1995 amateur draft. Making his pro debut with the Oneonta Yankees, he was 5-3 with a 2.83 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 89 innings. He led the New York-Penn League in strikeouts.

In 1996, the right-hander was 12-6 with a save and a 3.21 ERA for the Tampa Yankees. At age 23, he fell to 3-5 with a save and a 3.86 ERA with Tampa. During 1998, St. Pierre ended his Yankee run with Tampa (6.90 in 16 G) and the Norwich Navigators (4-2, 4.03 in 24 G). Moving to the Cleveland Indians system in 1999, he allowed eight runs in four innings for the Akron Aeros. He then went to the independent leagues and put up a 8-6, 3.60 record for the Newark Bears. He was 4th in the Atlantic League in ERA. He split 2000, his last year, between Newark (6 R in 4 IP) and the Lehigh Valley Black Diamonds (2-15, 5.64). He led the Atlantic League in defeats.

Bobby was pitching coach for the 2007 Burlington Bees, then moved from one Burlington to another, as pitching coach for the Burlington Royals from 2008-2011. St. Pierre moved to the Pittsburgh Pirates chain as coach of the GCL Pirates in 2012. He then became a Houston Astros scout, signing R.J. Freure.
