Biographical Information[edit]

Bobby Bundy has pitched in the minors; his brother is Dylan Bundy.

Bobby was picked by the Baltimore Orioles in the 8th round of the 2008 amateur draft, one choice before Scott Barnes; the scout was Jim Richardson. He pitched briefly for the GCL Orioles (5 H, 4 K, 2 R in 2 IP) that summer. In 2009, he was 2-7 with a 5.10 ERA for the Bluefield Orioles. He tied for second in the Appalachian League in losses, 3 behind Steven Upchurch. During 2010, he had a 4-6, 3.65 record for the Delmarva Shorebirds, throwing 12 wild pitches. He was sharper in 2011 with the Frederick Keys (11-5, 2.75) but sputtered after moving up to the Bowie Baysox (1-3, 9.64). For the season, he tied Jake Pettit for the most wins in the Orioles farm chain and was 5th with 117 strikeouts, between Tim Bascom and Rick van den Hurk. He was third in the Carolina League in ERA behind Robbie Ross and Danny Rosenbaum and tied Tim Melville and Nathan Moreau for second in wins behind Cameron Bayne. Ross beat him out as the league's All-Star starting pitcher. Baseball America named him the league's #15 prospect, between Anthony Ranaudo and Leury Garcia.

Bundy struggled with Bowie in 2012 at 2-11, 6.25. He was second in the Baltimore chain in losses (two behind Tim Berry) and tied for 6th in the Eastern League in that department, even with Brandon Cumpton, Mark Cohoon and Jared Wesson. Bobby had surgery to remove bone spurs and missed all of 2013.
