Biographical Information[edit]

Bo-gyeong Moon has played for the South Korean national team and in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Moon was drafted by the LG Twins in the 3rd round of the 2019 KBO draft, but he missed his first season due to elbow injury. He stayed in the minors in 2020, then he hit .230/.337/.363 in 103 games in 2021. Moon hit .500/.615/.600 in the playoff series, but the Doosan Bears still eliminated the Twins in 3 games. He improved to .315/.382/.451 in 2022, and he was the youngest player to reach a .300 batting average in Twins history. Moon was 7th in batting, between Hye-seong Kim and Sócrates Brito. However, he only hit .214/.313/.286 in the playoff series, and the Kiwoom Heroes beat them in 4 games.

The Seoul native was still a solid third baseman in 2023, and his batting line was .301/.377/.448 with 10 homers. He played well in the postseason this year, and he hit .471/.476/.725 to help the Twins win the 2023 Korean Series title. He crushed a homer in Game 4, and he broke Yong-bin Seo's record for the youngest Twins player to hit a homer in a Korean Series. Moon also represented Korea in the 2022 Asian Games (held in '23 after delays from COVID-19), and he hit .190/.320/.333 with 3 doubles. He collected a clutch double against Yu-Min Lin of Chinese Taipei in the Gold Medal game, and Korea won Gold. That exempted him from South Korea's generally mandatory military service.

Moon hit .301/.372/.507 with a career-high 22 homers and 101 RBI in 2024, and he was 5th in doubles (tied with Seung-yeup Na).
